Dana 9. novembra 1993. HVO je sru\u0161io Stari most kao dio kampanje granatiranja i terorisanja Mostara.<\/p>\n<p>Stari most je rekonstruiran i potpuno obnovljen 2004. godine. Me\u0111u donatorima su bile turska i italijanska vlada.<\/p>\n<p>Most je naru\u010dio osmanski sultan Sulejman Veli\u010danstveni 1557. godine kako bi zamijenio stari drveni vise\u0107i most koji se pokazao nestabilnim.<\/p>\n<p>Izgradnja je zapo\u010dela iste godine i trajala je devet godina, \u0161to se mo\u017ee pro\u010ditati iz natpisa na mostu koji za godinu zavr\u0161etka navodi 974. godinu po islamskom kalendaru (oko 1567.).
